2nd Harvest Mobile Market was in Deer Park on August 22nd. They had partnered up with Faith Lutheran Church to provide free produce and groceries to anyone in need of food assistance. Faith Lutheran Church has been sponsoring this event for a number of years now, and has been able to help many people in the process.
In the mobile market, participants were provided with wonderful produce like apples, onions, potatoes, watermelon, and fresh asparagus. They also gave out corn on the cob, bread, buns, and cheese factory cheesecake mix, which all came from 2nd Harvest warehouse. This event was open to the public and did not require documentation or an appointment. Faith Lutheran Church graciously set up some volunteers and provided the location for distribution at their parking lot at 214 S Weber Rd., Deer Park, WA 99006.
2nd Harvest says they are always looking for groups to partner with that will help bring their services to local communities. They regularly partner with the Green House in Deer Park, and would love to work with other organizations in the area. Right now there is no Mobile Market planned to visit Deer Park through the end of the year. However, that would not be the case if other groups would like to sign up and help bring it back sooner.
