Rotary Student Of The Month March 2018

Congratulations to Deer Park Rotary’s March Students of the Month!

Riverside’s Tom McNamee has managed the girls soccer and basketball varsity teams, the boys soccer team and for 2 years announced Riverside’s volleyball games. Tom has taken every science course offered at Riverside except computer science and his favorite is biomedical science. His other subjects have been AP English, AP US History, calculus, jazz band and power sports. Tom placed 12th in the nation through Skills USA for motorcycle service and repair and is Riverside’s Spokane Scholar for English. He is an ASB Social Representative, president of Students Taking Action Responsively (STAR), president of Riverside’s Skills USA program and completed over 1000 hours of community service. He plans on becoming an EMT through SCC within the next year and will attend Whitworth and major in pre-med with the goal of becoming a neurologist.

Brent Fiola, March student of the month from Mary Walker is a member of the varsity baseball and basketball teams.  His favorite class is Political Science, a subject he thoroughly enjoyed learning about. Brent has grown up in the Valley/Chewelah area and both of his parents graduated from Chewelah High School. His mother is a volleyball coach and his father recently completed his Masters in Psychology. Brent’s interests include coaching and video games. When asked what he’d change in his school, he’d like all the students to have school spirit. After graduation, Brent hopes to play baseball at Spokane Falls Community College.

Deer Park’s Nathan Berglund is a member of the Deer Park High School track team and qualified as a sprinter on last year’s State Championship Cross Country Team.  Nathan is an exemplary student who works hard and carries a 3.6 grade point average. He is personable, gets along with everyone and is easy to talk to. Nathan is going into the Navy after graduation and is extremely excited about achieving his goal of becoming a Navy Seal.
