Traffic was at times backed up as people came in the thousands to the first Swap Meet at The Old Drag Strip at the Deer Park Airport, this last Memorial weekend. “It went absolutely great,” said Hargis Adams, one of the founders of the Deer Park Car Club. This Deer Park Car Club sponsored event proved that you do not need to leave Deer Park to have an exciting time.
If you are seeking a day of classic cars, music, and supporting local vendors this Memorial weekend, you are in luck. The old Drag Strip at the Deer Park Airport will be the place to be. This free outdoors family friendly event will be
offering entertainment while still maintaining some social distance. The event is sponsored by the Deer Park Car Club.
Deer Park was flooded with classic cars, great music, smiling faces, and an endless supply of delicious root beer floats.
The Car Cruise and Root Beer Float event was held at the Hotspot April 30th and was a huge success. Collaborating for the event were the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, the Deer Park Car Club, the Upriver Drive band, and The Pickett Fence.
A delightful evening is planned as the Deer Park Car Club and the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce have joined together to bring a Cruise Night and Root Beer Floats event to Deer Park.
The Deer Park Car Club had planned to bring a “Kandy Bars And Kars” event to Mix Park Halloween afternoon; however, the event was canceled. The car club didn’t specify why the Trunk or Treat wasn’t going to happen, only that they were saddened and looked forward to more events next year.
