Summer Free Food For Kids 2021

The Summer Meal Program, also known as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was created to help ensure children have nutritious meals when school is out of session. The Summer Meals Program provides free meals and snacks to people ages 1-18. The SFSP is a federally-funded, state-administered program. Different organizations like Deer Park, Riverside, and Mary Walker School Districts as well as Spokane County Library District sponsor meals in our area. Mixing It Up in the Park

Lifeguards Needed: Last Day To Apply

City efforts have been made to ensure the pool can open this summer, including hiring a handful of lifeguards. Despite increasing the pay to $22 per hour, no one has applied for the job. The opportunity to sign up for lifeguard certification class ends today.

Swinyard Park Suspects Additional Case

A third suspect has been arrested in connection to an incident in Swinyard Park in Deer Park that happened over Memorial Weekend. Leading to additional charges for the three suspects in separate assault investigations.
Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies identified and located the third suspect involved in the fight where a pistol was brandished and fired on May 31, 2021, at Swinyard Park in Deer Park.
