The discontinuation of newly created business The Hotspot was announced by the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce President. A letter was sent out to several small business owners and individuals in Deer Park.
As they make their way through summer, the Chamber of Commerce has been tediously ironing out details to ensure a back-on-track approach after the recent year with COVID.
Loon Lake welcomes a new business to the community, just off highway 395. Lisa Clements, LMP, brings you the Loon Lake Spa. Celebrating its grand opening on March 13th, they hosted an open tour of their cozy space.
The Northern Roots Hair Salon is opening a new spa! Located at 106 East Crawford Street, Roots is a high end day spa offering a wide range of relaxing services, including facials, massage, nails, pedicures, and eyelash extensions. They will be holding a Grand Opening party on Saturday, March 6th, from 11am to 4pm, to give the community a chance to meet their staff and check out their new space!
Situated 3 miles northeast of downtown Deer Park, the Deer Park Municipal Airport/Penni Loomis Field has been transforming its mission since being established as a World War 2 airfield in 1944. During the 1950’s, the airstrip became more popular for drag racing than for plane landings. Today, it has grown into a thriving, self-sustaining municipal asset serving a large variety of clients, missions, and aircrafts. Its future is more growth.
The Clayton/Deer Park Historical Society (CDPHS) was formed in 2003 as part of an effort to save the Clayton School building which was said to be surplus property by the School Board and was being put up for sale.
With a cut of the golden scissors, Jeff Whittle, President of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, officially opened The Hotspot on November 17th. Located at North 104 Main Street in Deer Park, The Hotspot is a coworking office space providing a host of professional amenities to area entrepreneurs, small businesses, and/or individuals.
In a partnership with Avista, the Economic Development Committee, the Chamber of Commerce is working to add holiday lights and seasonal decor. Part of that effort is the Stag Award; going to the business with the best holiday decor on the storefront or the window display.
Several updates emanated from the Office of the Governor in December. Many regarding benefits that the Governor is extending to help people through these trying times, there was also an extension and modification to the current restrictions.
