It is the notification that no one wants to receive at this time: “you have been exposed to an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19.” The fluid, seemingly ever-changing, situation created by this current pandemic can cause confusion and stress.
This past June, Pride’s Smokin’ Jo “Bones”, a Tennessee Walker born in California celebrated his 36th birthday. His owner, Linda, purchased Bones when he was 9 years old and has had him ever since.
The recent long and rainy spring may have created the perfect recipe for mosquitoes this summer. Mosquitoes thrive where there is standing water; in fact, bodies of water with little to no flow are essential for mosquitoes to reproduce, according to the CDC.

The Deer Park Volunteer Ambulances have a new look! This past year the Deer Park volunteer ambulance service was able to purchase two new ambulances, one through a grant.
Since the spring of 2008, Deputy Dutton has been a familiar face in the Deer Park area, working patrol duties for the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. Recently the deputy transitioned within the Sheriff’s office, and became the main resource officer for the Deer Park School District.
This past Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, Habitat for Humanity Spokane hosted a very special event: their “Home for the Holidays” celebration. Four homes at the Hope Springs Development in Deer Park had recently been completed, and three of the four families had just finalized the paperwork to become official homeowners.
The holidays are a fun and festive time of year, and with a few extra steps it is possible to ensure that your pets stay safe and enjoy the season as well.
Deer Park welcomed a new business, Five North Coffee and Gifts, into the area on November 24th. Grand Opening events included a ribbon cutting and a raffle/donation drive to raise money for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.
