The City of Deer Park’s new splash pad at Mix Park is set to conclude its first season, having been open for less than a month. With only this weekend left for families to enjoy the new park attraction, time is running out to cool off before it closes to the public.
The Deer Park Splash Pad at Mix Park is winding down its inaugural season, providing a final weekend of water fun. Located at 301 West 4th in Deer Park’s Mix Park, the splash pad officially opened on September 11th and has since been a popular destination for families seeking a place to cool off and play. The new attraction was made possible through the efforts of the City of Deer Park and is dedicated to former Councilmember Helen “Dee” Cragun, who is recognized for her dedication to improving the community.

The community is encouraged to make the most of this final weekend to go out with a “splash-tastic hoorah!” The splash pad will officially close for the season on Monday, September 29th.
The splash pad features several distinct water-spouting sculptures. There is a large black bear with water coming from its mouth, an eagle perched on a tree-like structure, and a fish-shaped fountain. Colorful rainbow arches spray water onto the pad, and a large moose sculpture. The splash pad is situated within the larger grounds of Mix Park, with a playground visible nearby, and is surrounded by grassy areas and tall trees.
Since its opening, the splash pad’s operating hours have been from 10am to Dusk. While the season is ending, the City of Deer Park’s website announced that a formal Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held in Spring 2026, with a date to be announced later.
