Letter To The Editor – Reelect Wes McCart

Typewriter with paper reading "Letters to the Editor"

I am writing in support for reelecting Wes McCart for county commissioner. Commissioner McCart has become one of the most influential public servants in Eastern Washington and never fails to bring the concerns of Stevens County to the forefront in all matters legislative. His expertise has been critical in advocacy of remote rural counties, and he is called upon with great frequency to testify on the legislative floor for the betterment of not just his county, but every county East of the Cascades.

Wes is firmly entrenched as the subject matter expert for many of the issues we face in Northeastern Washington. His knowledge on matters of water rights, timber issues, and the ever-increasing predator problems we deal with is a byproduct of his work ethic and ceaseless study. Simply put, Wes is easily one of the hardest working commissioners in the state.

With the turnover in the 7th legislative district and the 5th congressional district, Commissioner McCart will be critical in the strategy and development our new representation develops. Stevens County has an opportunity to shape that representation, and there is not a stronger, more influential voice than that of Wes McCart.  With a projected turnover well north of a full third of our state legislators, now is the time to tell the story of Stevens County.  Commissioner McCart is the man for the job, and any failure to reelect him would be a tremendous setback. Not just for Stevens County, but for all of Eastern Washington.

Since the late 70’s when the city disbanded it’s own department and contracted with
the county, well meaning people have thought that it “seems” like we could fund our
own department for what we are paying the county.

Horrific behavior from a School Board Member

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing unprofessional and harmful behavior of Deer Park School Board Director Ashby. His public accusations against me, falsely labeling me as unethical, amount to defamation and slander, unfairly damaging my reputation. It is unacceptable for a sitting board member to engage in such reckless and baseless personal attacks.

Letter To The Editor – Vote Yes for the kids, for the future!

I’m writing in support of the proposed Replacement Bond for School Construction. I’m an active community member & volunteer. I have made it a priority and taken the time to learn how this bond will be used. I’ve found an open-door policy and full in regards to the use and justification of the bond. I am impressed and grateful for the prioritization the School Board and Bond Committee are giving to the feedback they’ve received from the community about concerns over an increase in their tax bill. Every Committee and Board member I’ve encountered is eager to answer questions.
