The Lady Stags’ precision shooting had them raining down three-pointers and securing a commanding lead in the District 7 1A semifinal at West Valley High School on Thursday.

The Lady Stags were on target from deep, connecting on six first-quarter threes and eight in the opening half.

The Cardinals used a 9-2 run to close within six at 22-16 before the regular season champions ran off ten consecutive to end the half.

The lead grew to 40-19 in less than three minutes of the third quarter on an 8-3 run, a margin that remained until the end of the third at 51-30 after being up as much as 23.

The fourth-seeded Cardinals closed to within 15 at 51-36 prior to a lightning-quick 8-0 burst with the Bryant sisters, each scoring a three.

Ashlan Bryant topped the score sheet with 20, and Coe was close behind with 18 all from beyond the arc. The Lady Stags not only connected on a season best total of 14 from downtown, they also shot a season’s best 50 percent, going 14 of 28.

Next up will be the district title tilt against Lakeside on Valentine’s Day, as the Eagles bested Colville in the other semi-final.
