Sponsorship Tiers:

  • Naming Sponsor (Limit 1)

There is only one naming sponsor for each year. Invitations will be mailed to about 3,000 residents featuring the Naming Sponsors company or organization. All title graphics for the coloring contest will feature the sponsor’s name and/or logo. This sponsor will have the opportunity to select the winner for each age group from all eligible and selected finalists. 

We can send out the invitations to a larger area if the sponsor is interested. Please get in touch with us for details.

  • Gold Sponsors (Limit 3)

Gold Sponsors will include a business card size ad on website pages and articles about the coloring contest for this year. The sponsor ads will also be included in the coloring contest entry form and rules. 

  • Prize Sponsor

Prize sponsors will be listed on website pages and articles about the coloring contest for this year. The sponsor will also be listed on the entry form if they have paid before the contest has been announced.

Contributing Prizes
For maximum visibility, sponsors are encouraged to provide a prize for each age group. Prizes can be services or products provided by your business if relevant to the age groups. It is highly recommended that sponsor’s providing prizes, shop locally to strengthen our community. Discounts and coupons that do not provide something entirely free will not be used as a prize for this contest. All prizes must be in the possession of the Gazette before they are announced.  

There are three age groups:

  • Kids 0-9
  • Teens 10-17
  • Adults 18 and up

In Memory of Don/Donnie Gilmore

Donald “Donnie” Eugene Gilmore of Deer Park, Washington, passed away on June 12, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born in Spokane, Washington, on August 22, 1952. In 1973, Don enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served on active duty for two years. In 1983, he graduated with a degree in education from Eastern Washington University. Don was a beloved teacher at Springdale Elementary for 25 years. He even got to teach his two sons when they were in the fifth grade (much to their chagrin!). He retired in 2015. Don was married to Denise
Wurz (Lesmeister) from 1983 to 1995.

US 395 Lanes Reopened After Collision Near Monroe Road

A traffic collision at the intersection of North US Highway 395 and West Monroe Road temporarily blocked northbound traffic. Emergency crews, including multiple fire units and ambulances, responded to the scene to treat individuals and manage traffic flow. All lanes have since been cleared and reopened to regular traffic.
