Bugs & Birds Spring To The Deer Park Market

The Deer Park Market Association is set to launch its 2023 season this Saturday (May 6th). The market features small and home-based businesses at Perrins Field, located at 315 East Crawford Avenue in Deer Park.

This seasonal community event is open the first Saturday of the month from May through October and will showcase local vendors, artisans, and growers. Each market will be from 9am – 3pm and have a different theme and a variety of special attractions.

The first market, on May 6th, will feature more than forty vendors, along with a bird feeder building station for kids and a passport activity to earn a packet of seeds. The Buttercup Hillbillies will also be performing at the market, bringing their bluegrass folk sound to the event.

With a theme for each month, the Deer Park Market Association has an entire season planned. 

  • June 3rd – Pets in the Park
  • July 1st – Americana Birthday Party and Car Show
  • August 5th – Sunflowers & Self-Care
  • September 2nd – We Love the PNW
  • October 7th – The Great Outdoors

He went on to earn his Associate of Arts degree from Spokane Falls Community College and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Idaho before serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Western Ukraine.

Albert “Al” Stevens was born to Warren and Luella Stevens on December 4, 1937. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1955, attended EWU for two years, and served in the Army National Guard. Like his late brother Donald, he worked for the Department of Natural Resources as a firefighter but spent most of his career in sales.

Free Kids Summer Lunch Program Ended Early

The Community Summer Lunch Program in Deer Park, which served vital meals to youth, ended prematurely this year due to low community participation and communication issues. Operated by the Deer Park School District through the Summer Food Service Program, had to be relocated to Perrins Field for this summer.
