Tee Off & Splash On

The City’s Golf course, impacted by inflation, raises prices as a result. Public input was heard regarding the amended budget for the Splash Pad.

Deer Park Golf Club
The annual report for the city owned golf course was presented by Craig Schuh who is contracted to run all business aspects of the golf course. Inflation has impacted the costs of operations. Subsequently the green fees have been adjusted to help make up the difference in costs. In addition, there is some repair work planned for this summer and the timeline will be dependent on the weather.

Splash Pad Budget Amendment
State law requires a public hearing whenever the city amends the annual budget.. Citizen comments ranged from positive support to stiff opposition on the issue of the Splash Pad. Some of the main concerns were regarding safety and accessibility in the areas around the pool. The council is expected to debate and vote on the amendment at the March 1st meeting.
