Pet Business Owners Hand Over Operations

Leslie & Dan Stansbury have been successful pet-related business owners in the Deer Park community for over 30 years and serving as community leaders. In January, they  handed over their businesses to Isaiah and Danielle Prosser.

Leslie Stansbury and Dan Stansbury have been successful business owners in the Deer Park community for over three decades. Leslie opened Grrs ‘n’ Purrs Grooming in 1991 after relocating from Northern California, where her pet grooming career started. She has been a huge part of the Deer Park community, serving as the President of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, judging the Settlers parade, and organizing the duck race at Mix Park for Settlers Day.

Leslie’s love for animals extends beyond her grooming business. She took a trip in 2008 with Dr. Cathy King, founder of World Vets, to provide veterinary care to animals on the island of Utila in Honduras.

In 2006, Leslie and Dan opened Ruff ‘n’ It Dog Day Camp, offering dogs a fun indoor and outdoor place to play with other dogs.

In January, Leslie and Dan handed over their businesses to Isaiah and Danielle Prosser. Leslie’s manager, Danielle Prosser, has been working next to her for the last 21 years, and they are both very excited for this business opportunity and future growth. Isaiah Prosser will be taking Dan’s place at Ruff ‘n It Dog Day Camp, while Leslie will continue to groom cats a couple of days a week at the salon.

“A Single Sunbeam is Enough to Drive Away Many Shadows” ST Francis of Assisi

With a heavy heart we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend Susan G. Robideaux Emry. Susan was born April 18th, 1953, in Spokane, WA, to William and Reubie Robideaux. She went to join the Lord peacefully, in her sleep on August 5th, 2024, at her cherished home on Reflection Lake in Elk, WA. Susan grew up and rivaled her feisty, fun-loving, 5 brothers in Spokane, WA, where they performed musical skits for family friends. She attended Marycliff and Mead High Schools. She met her future husband, Brian (Bud) Emry, at a party and was instantly charmed when he tuned his harmonica in orange soda. Bud, in turn, was captivated by Susan’s party trick – reciting Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards.
