High Wind Warning For This Weekend

Projected wind speeds could peak with gusts of 70mph. Provided by National Weather Service Spokane.

With an abrupt change in weather, local trees are more likely to be damaged by snow and wind.  Exactly a month ago, the high temperature reached 80° F. Recent snow has further weakened or damaged trees. Now high winds are expected this coming weekend.

The high for October 4th was 80° Farnihet. Last night, most of the Greater Deer Park Area received about 3 inches of a snow-rain mix. The heavy blend caused broken tree branches and power outages.

A high wind warning has been issued by the Spokane National Weather Service (OTX) for this weekend. The winds are projected to start Friday afternoon, with the strongest winds overnight into Saturday am.
