On Mark For Silent Auction and Nationals

Feature Photo By Kenny Eliason

There will be a silent auction to support The Deer Park High School Archery Team to raise money for the National Archery In The Schools Program (NASP) 3D Nationals this April. This will be the first time the whole team has qualified for Nationals. Several individuals on the team will also be competing in the tournament.

The Deer Park Archery Boosters will be hosting the fundraiser between noon to 6pm at Stylz Salon (located at 855 S Main Street in Deer Park) on Saturday, April 16th. The money will go toward equipment and trip expenses for the students. The auction is an open event, and you do not need a ticket to get in.

To get a sneak peek at some of the items available for sale at the auction, go to the Deer Park High School Archery Facebook group at: Facebook.com/groups/124202851435417

If you have any questions or want to donate to the silent auction, call Nona at 509 220-9948.

The Archery Nationals, which takes place on April 29th and 30th, is fast approaching. The team will be traveling to Sandy, Utah. These kids have worked hard for this, which proved fruitful as the whole team qualified. They have to place top three in the state and have a high enough team score. This year’s team comprises Elizabeth Meyers, Samara Honshiko, Collin Meyers, Kip Pagac, Brock Mitchell, Andrew Hamilton, Kaidyn Kemper, and Jaslynn Discher.

Deer Park has five of its eight team members competing as individuals this year. The five students who qualified for the individual 3D Nationals are Kaidyn Kemper, Elizabeth Meyers, Samara Honshiko, Kip Pagac, and Collin Meyers. To be eligible for a personal spot, shooters have to place in the top ten in the State. In addition, Kip Pagac and Elizabeth Meyers qualified for the NASP Bullseye Nationals.
