The Clayton Pro West Rodeo will again take place during the same weekend as Deer Park Settlers Day. After being forced to cancel due to COVID restrictions in 2020, the event is coming back on July 23rd and 24th, 2021.
The Clayton Pro-West Rodeo is an all-American pastime with a longstanding tradition of serving the Deer Park and Clayton Communities. Revenue from the rodeo helps fund the Clayton Community Fair, local vendors, and service groups. Come enjoy two days full of events in the last week in July. The rodeo is at the Clayton Community Fairgrounds at 4616 Wallbridge Rd Clayton, Washington.
On both nights, the start of the rodeo will be at 7:30pm. However, tickets may only be purchased at the gate starting at 5:30pm.
Ticket prices are as following:
- 6 to 12 year olds are $5.00
- 13 years and up are $10.00
- Children under 6 are free (when accompanied by an adult.)
Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. For large parties, they recommend that it is best to come early and get your seats. Food vendors will be on-site for dinner options. There will also be a beer garden again this year. The Tough Enough Drill Team will be there to help celebrate this event.

July 23rd is their slack night, so any events that have more competitors than the regular rodeo window allows will be competing after the main rodeo.
Tough Enough to Wear Pink
An organization called Because There Is Hope will be at the Clayton Pro-West rodeo with a booth to promote breast cancer awareness again this year. Organizers encourage people to stop by the booth to purchase some pink and show them how many are tough enough to wear pink during the rodeo.

How to Compete
If you want to compete at the Clayton Pro-West Rodeo, you can still register to ride by going to ProWestRodeo.com and clicking on the online entries button. In the form, click on Clayton Pro West Rodeo, and select then they will need to enter their preferred event time, sign, and submit.
For Ranch Bronc riders, you will need to contact Dwayne Strong at 509-276-5136 or 509-951-7379. They are asking people to please leave a message with their name and a phone number. The organizers say they have many calls coming in and will be calling people back, but please have patience.
Volunteering
This event would not be possible without volunteers or sponsors. The Clayton Community Fair Board and many volunteers work together throughout the whole year to make these nights memorable. Volunteers help the nights of the rodeo and the days leading to it with all the prep work from mowing, staining, repairing, garbage duty, and ticket takers. Deer Park Ambulance are also on-site during the event in case an emergency arises.
