COVID-19 at Deer Park Middle School

School started this year on September 8th and by September 16th came the news that a student at Deer Park Middle School (DPMS) tested positive for COVID-19. The student is reported to be in 7th grade’s Gold group. In a letter to DPMS families the Spokane Regional Health stated that all quarantine precautions and cleaning regimens have been followed and that DPMS will continue to remain open and have school. 

If families did not receive specific (separate) communication from the school, then their child was not determined to be in contact with the positive individual.

Summer Children Meals Program Update 7/26/2021

The Summer Meal Program, also known as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), was created to help ensure children have nutritious meals when school is out of session. The Summer Meals Program provides free meals and snacks to people ages 1-18. The SFSP is a federally-funded, state-administered program. Different organizations like Deer Park, Riverside, and Mary Walker School Districts, and Spokane County Library District sponsor meals in our area.
