Shopping With Heroes

Sometimes “protect and serve” goes beyond simply carrying a badge and a gun to chase down bad guys. Events like Shop with A Cop and Holidays & Heroes bring police officers, firefighters,  and first responders together with a great group of volunteers to bring some Christmas magic to families in need.

Holidays & Heroes 2019 brought together law enforcement and fire agencies from North Idaho and Kootenai County, as well as Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane Valley Police, and Liberty Lake Police.  The local heroes were able to serve around 100 families. From taking the kids shopping for their families, then helping them wrap the presents, to sharing refreshments together, the Christmas spirit was alive and well.

The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, likewise, held their annual Shop With A Cop event. A group of officers and deputies took their group of kids to the Colville Walmart for shopping, and also helped wrap the gifts afterward.
