The year 2020 for Deer Park started off with the swearing in of three City Council members. Caleb Stapp won the election with 694 votes (his opponent, Heather Newsom had 488), Helen Dee Cragun won with 558 votes (her opponent, Carla J. Philips had 548 votes), and Ron Scholz ran unopposed.
Though the Deer Park girls basketball team fell to Freeman in the district championship game 58-46 the Lady Stags came back to defeat Medical Lake 45 – 44 in a final chance “loser out” game.
Meals on Wheels opened the new Silver Cafe where seniors citizens can eat a healthy meal everyday for little to no cost.
