Celebrating Students

Members of the Deer Park Rotary Club hosted the 11th annual Student of the Month Banquet on May 5th, at St. Mary Presentation Catholic Church in Deer Park.

23 students from Deer Park, Riverside, and Mary Walker High Schools, along with their family members, were invited to an evening of fun, food, and fellowship where they were recognized with certificates and gifts.  Meeting students from our three local high schools each month, and the Student of the Month Banquet have become favorite events for the club. The Rotary Club congratulates these young people and wishes them much success as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

The Club would also like to thank everyone who has purchased one of their Hanging Wave Petunia Baskets, sponsored the Annual Golf Tournament, or added your name to their Holiday Sign displayed at the Deer Park Rotary Pocket Park.  It’s through these events that they are able to award $6,000 in Academic/Leadership and Vocational Scholarships each year, fund the Student of the Month Program and banquet, purchase and distribute new books to elementary students, support our three local food banks with an annual donation, and complete community projects like the playground equipment in Mix Park.
