Feeling Shakey?

As if all the snow at the beginning of March wasn’t strange enough, now Deer Park has been subjected to an earthquake as well.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) says the quake occurred at around 2:16pm on March 6th and was located about 11 kilometers outside of town. With a magnitude of 2.3 and a depth of about 0.6 kilometers, the shakedown wasn’t severe but was felt in Deer Park, Riverside, Chattaroy, and Mead.  Several on Facebook posted that they heard a bang and felt a shake.
