Royalty at Pumpkin Lane

Each year you will find both the Clayton Fair Royalty and the Miss Deer Park Representatives at Pumpkin Lane. Most years Clayton is set up in front of Napa, and the Deer Park girls, along with the Deer Park Float Association, show off their awards in the Yoke’s parking lot.  Both sets of young ladies enjoy photo opportunities with the little “ghouls and boils” (girls and boys). This year, however, begins a new tradition with both sets of our local royalty standing together in the Yoke’s parking lot.

While the Deer Park Representatives are getting ready to wind down their adventures as the faces of our town on our Community Float, the Clayton Fair Royalty is just gearing up their year, having been selected as this year’s representatives in late August, The Clayton duo exuded excitement and smiles as they met new faces and had a glimpse of what is to come for the next year. They soaked up the adoration of little ones who envision themselves having this opportunity in the future. The Deer Park duo (our third representative was unable to attend this year’s Pumpkin Lane) experienced a great deal of excitement, were able to show their appreciation for the community and the support over this past year, and also had a few moments of sadness as this was their last adventure with the float and our fantastic float association.

All in all, there was candy, wonderful costumes, photos, smiles, laughter, and great memories made by all.
