Representatives from Comcast announced at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 17, that they have agreed to purchase the cable TV system in Deer Park. Currently, the City has a cable franchise agreement with Northstar Broadband. The next step in the acquisition is for the city to approve transferring the franchise agreement to Comcast.
Terry Davis, who is a Director of External Affairs for Comcast Cable, stated that they will be upgrading the entire cable system in Deer Park. He also indicated that the full line of Comcast services would be available in about six months after the franchise transfer is approved.
