A competition for all ages, the Lego building contest saw 194 participants and 99 total entries!
Organized by Deer Park Library staff, the Lego competition was sponsored by The Friends of the Deer Park Library; the fundraising group generously provided treats for every participant and prizes for all the winners.
There were 8 age categories, ranging from 18 months all the way up to adult. Lego and Duplo bricks were supplied by the Deer Park Library, and used to build a variety of structures. The final constructions were judged according to the builder’s age category.
Some special community members were called upon to judge the finished creations; judges included Deer Park Mayor Tim Verzal, Chamber of Commerce Board member Ryan Moore, Clayton Royalty Princess Maddie Stehlar and Queen Harriet Riebold, and 2017 Settler’s Day Honored Citizen Karen Martino.
