The fourth wave of the pandemic has been under evaluation for weeks by experts, and their reports have led Governor Inslee to announce a two-week pause of the Roadmap to Recovery plan. During the pause, all Washington state counties will stay at their current phase. Then, after the two-weeks, each county will be re-evaluated.
Spokane County Libraries announced the reopening of their eleven facilities to the public on March 8th in a limited capacity. This will be the second time that the Spokane County Libraries will be reopening their doors; the last time was in November 2020. They were only able to remain open for a couple of weeks before they had to close back down.
Governor Inslee announced Eastern Washington can now move on into Phase 2 of COVID guidelines beginning Valentine’s Day, February 14th. Additionally, the governor also announced a new round of COVID financial support for business and rental relief.
Spokane County Libraries which is currently in Phase 2 is opening all eleven of its facilities in a limited capacity on Thursday, November 12th. Hoping to open in November as well, Stevens County libraries have decided to wait even though they are in Phase 3.
Governor puts additional restrictions related to weddings and funerals, restaurants, bars, and fitness and entertainment centers in his July 23rd announcement. This came on the
Phase 2 of the “Safe Start” plan for Washington state came to Spokane and Stevens County rather abruptly, leaving some businesses confused and scrambling. Eager to re-open, a few businesses had begun sanitizing and writing their new policies in preparation prior to the announcement. Others let their customers know it will be a little longer before they can open their doors again, as they make sure their business adheres to Phase 2 safety requirements.
