The Deer Park Early Learning Center program has 14 additional ECEAP full day slots. Currently, the program has 2 full day and 2 half day classrooms. The increase will allow them to offer 2 more half day classes.

After removing the 6ft distancing rule for schools, Governor Inslee said “You can start tomorrow, going back into what you might call a full meal deal.” Since the announcement, school districts have been in discussion on what this means for them.

For the love and joy of being a school bus driver, these professionals endure seasons of unforeseeable roads and unpredictable children. They are people you likely already know. They are diverse in age and background, but each and all have invested a significant amount of time and money to become the drivers entrusted with the most precious of cargo – our children.

Perhaps hands-on learning has never been more engaging or more appreciated than in the 2020/2021 school year of digitized learning. The students in Deer Park High School’s career and technical education floral and horticulture classes are getting their hands in soil and sowing seeds for their future career successes.

Local, state, or national emergencies should not stand in the way of our students graduating from high school. Governor Inslee recently signed a house bill which provides a waiver of certain high school graduation requirements.

As the COVID situation is constantly changing, local school districts are working to keep families and the community informed about the health and safety of our kids, as well as the invaluable staff who work in the schools.

There is an Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Renewal Levy in a special election coming up on February 9th, 2021 ballots. For most schools this levy is a renewal which expires in 2021. Schools currently use their EP&O Levy funds for many different learning programs and activities outside of state-funded basic education, including but not limited to programs in their community like:

In a New Years’ message from Deer Park School Superintendent Travis Hanson, he expressed thanks and appreciation for the hard teamwork by parents/guardians, students, and staff in maintaining COVID guidelines. He also noted Deer Park is in the 15% of WA state schools who currently have access to in-person learning.
