Martha Tripp

Martha Christina (Wiley) Tripp was born on February 26, 1931, in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was the youngest of eight children. When she was ten years old, her family moved to Warrenton, Oregon. Two weeks after graduation from Warrenton High School, she met and married Layton Tripp. In 1959, Martha and Layton moved from Kinzua, Oregon, to Deer Park, Washington, where they raised their three children.

Martha’s life centered around her faith and her family. She was deeply involved in church life and attended Deer Park Church of the Nazarene, where she was active in children’s, youth, and women’s ministries. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, fishing, singing, and spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In later years, Martha and Layton were actively involved with the senior group at the First Baptist Church in Deer Park, which they attended for a number of years.

Martha was preceded in death by her siblings, her husband Layton Tripp, her son David Tripp, and two grandsons, Jonathan and Jeffrey Helt. She is survived by her son Steven Tripp and his wife Vivian, her daughter Kathy Helt, and her husband Duane, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and extended family who loved her dearly.
