While not strangers to each other, it is somewhat rare for the City Council and Airport Advisory Board to meet together. On February 12th, the two groups held a joint meeting for the purpose of understanding each other’s perspective better. The meeting was relaxed despite the number of important topics on the table that could have a long-lasting impact on Deer Park.
First of the two topics discussed in detail was the Airport’s 20-year plan, which is currently in the tenth year. The other topic was through the fence agreements which would allow airplanes to be taxied from airport property to adjoining properties. No decisions were made at this meeting; however, the exchange of information will likely impact future choices.
